Are you ready for a giveaway?! This is a little off track from the photography related posts I usually do, but I am a closet scrapbooker too... {and I am WAY behind and need to get caught up!} So let me tell you about a fun new product and how you might be able to get your hands on it for free!

I was recently able to try out a digital scrapbooking software program called My Memories Suite. I made the switch to digital scrapbooking many years ago but there is always something about the software that frustrates me or is confusing, or just won't work the way I want it to. I haven't had a lot of time to really get into all the things this software offers, but so far I am having the time of my life.

The software comes with about 20 ready made templates, 1,500 papers and 1,300 embellishments. You can use a pre-designed template, build your own, or download more from the online store. There are lots of free ones and more themes to choose from than I will ever take pictures for {and that is saying something}

If you have already dabbled in digital scrapbooking and have a collection of embellishments and papers already, the great thing is that you can use them in this program. Here is a tutorial on how to import them.

Wait there is more!! You can also make cards, calendars, albums, add music, narration, turn it into a playable dvd or ipod ready show. The perfect way to share your memories with a flair. There is so much there I haven't even been able to scratch the surface but I just couldn't wait to share this with all of you.

Here are a few of the ones I have done just playing around.

It is pretty easy to figure out especially if you have done any design work before, but there are so many neat features to learn to get you on your way to creating beautiful pages so I highly recommend watching the tutorials over on The Pink Toque

So once a month whether by myself or with a group I try to just go have some fun. This night turned into a downpour of rain and cloudy skies which put a damper on the shoot. A day with my children

I recently saw someone do this and I thought it was a great idea. I took a whole day and I didn't do any of my projects or work and I spent the day with my children. From the moment until they woke up until the last one fell asleep I was there with them. That day I found that I had more patience with them, they didn't fight as much, and we had a lot of fun together. As the day progressed I lost a couple along the way... my oldest went swimming with a friend and my other daughter went out to a movie with her friend so then you just get photos with the youngest until they are all back home and I tuck them in bed. Just looking at the pictures I can remember what a great day we had.

I think this is something I will want to do on occasion to remind me that the most important thing on my to-do list is to just spend time with my children. They don't stay this way for long.

Easter Mini Sessions

I am currently booking appointments for Easter Sessions.

These are going to be mini sessions and will cost $30.00. The appt. will last 1/2 hour during which time we will take your pictures then sit down and choose 5 images for you to take with you on cd. Also included in the price will be 1 sheet of prints however you want to lay out that sheet. Additional sheets are $5.00 per sheet. This can be groups shots, individual shots, whatever you want.

My Beauty Campaign

Ok here it is. I have been talking about this to friends and on facebook for a few weeks so let me finally get a blog post up about it.

First of all, a HUGE thank you to the beautiful ladies featured on this post who were my guinea pigs as I started my journey to become a certified beauty campaign photographer.

My Beauty Campaign was created by a Utah Photographer named Mandi Nuttall. She had a vision of what she wanted this to be about. She developed the whole program and then started marketing it to other photographers. I heard about becoming a beauty campaign photographer and immediately knew that I wanted to be a part of this.

Beauty Certified Photographers are on a mission. We want every woman to have a beautiful photo that she absolutely loves, a visual representation of her own personal beauty campaign. We hope that each woman will ultimately be able to say for herself...

"This is My Beauty Campaign."

Beauty sessions help you rediscover your true beauty, AND you have amazing photos to prove it. If you don't feel beautiful, give me a few hours with you and I will prove that you are.

A beauty session is so much more than just a photo shoot...it is a journey. It is so easy to point out all your faults, that sometimes we can forget who we really are. I work with you before the session, to get your insecurities out on the table so you can put them behind you. Then we focus on what makes you beautiful. I also do some fun things during and after your session to help you feel natural, comfortable, and most importantly, You.

My dream is that everyone else will be as excited about this as I am and want to schedule their own beauty session.

On that note, I just want to mention that I know how hard it is to come up with money, especially to spend on ourselves... and sometimes it is just impossible. If this is something that you really want to do but just don't know if you can afford, contact me and maybe we can work something out. That is how strongly I feel about women needing to make this journey. I love to trade for goods/services, and payment plans are always an option. But do it. You won't regret it.

I never thought I would love seeing pictures of myself but I do. I realize that I am beautiful too. I have a husband who loves me, amazing friends, and 4 wonderful children who make my life all that it is. I am truly blessed with all that I have.

I donated a gift certificate to the local martial arts group who were raffling tickets to help Sub for Santa. This little guy's mom won it, and since she happened to have a cute little guy that needed pictures she gave me a call!
